On Saturday, May 30, our community gathered at the Battle Creek Pavilion & Garden to welcome the return of Yaŋpá, the Dakota Spring-Wind of the East, through a celebration centered on healing, renewal, creativity, and community.
Artists Marlena Myles and Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wiŋ, alongside many talented guest artists and educators, shared a day that blended Dakota ancestral teachings with contemporary Indigenous artistry, offering hands-on activities and opportunities to connect with one another and the natural world.
