Wíyouŋkihipi Productions is excited to be one of the featured Indigenous publishers at The Story Lodge: An Indigenous Literary & Book Fair, presented by The Dreaded Hidatsa and Mashkiki Studios.
The Story Lodge is a gathering dedicated to Indigenous stories, books, language, publishing, art, and community. It brings together Indigenous authors, publishers, bookstores, poets, artists, educators, literary organizations, and book lovers for a day of celebrating Indigenous creativity and storytelling.
This year’s theme, Máagada Aru Óodi Mirísh (“When the Berries Ripen Moon” in Hidatsa), honors August as a season of gathering, abundance, story, and community.
Visitors can stop by the Wíyouŋkihipi Productions table to explore Dakota books, children’s books, zines, literary artwork, and other publications that celebrate Dakota language, culture, and contemporary Indigenous creativity.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy author panels, poetry and spoken word, short story readings, children’s story time, workshops, book signings, bookish goods, press opportunities, and more.
