Dakota Living Landscapes Tour with Marlena Myles & Tanagidantowin
Join us for a guided Dakota plant walk featuring artists and cultural educators Marlena Myles and Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wiŋ, who will share the deep cultural significance of the land and the plants that thrive upon it. Through Dakota stories and teachings, they will show how plants are more than resources — they are relatives that connect us to our ancestors, our language, and our responsibilities to the world around us.
This walk invites participants to experience the landscape through a Dakota lens, learning how each plant carries knowledge, sustains life, and reflects the values of balance, reciprocity, and respect that are central to the Dakota way of life.
Use the Battle Creek Dog Park Parking Lot: 2350 Upper Afton Rd, Maplewood, MN 55119
Event will take place at the Picnic Shelter on the hill, across the street from the parking lot.
