About the poet:

Savannah Swanson: I am a descendant of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. I live in Duluth, MN and have spent my life on the shores of Gitche Gumee. I've written poetry for over 20 years, using this creative outlet to help me process trauma. My healing has grown as I've reconnected to the traditions and practices of my Ojibwe relatives. This has brought a shift in my writing, which had previously felt too vulnerable to share. My journey home has ignited my Spirit and deepened my connection to all living things. I share these poems in deep gratitude and respect. Chi miigwech.
